How mutch HP do you think it will make Chevrolet?

SBC 355

10.2 Comp.

225cc intake runners Aluminum heads (Patriot Performance heads) 2.08– 1.60

Edelbrock RPM Air Gap Intake 1500-6500rpm

Comp Cams Xtreme energy Cam 1800-6000 490 lift 490 lift Flat taped cam

Holley street avenger carb 770 cfm….

I know the idea of engine building is to build it for what your useing it for and to set your intake cam and carb up….but yeah…

So just an idea what you think it will make for touque and horse power

Your combo is INSANELY mis-matched. A 225CC head on a N/A 355 belongs with either forced induction or Alchohol and 8000RPM. I say Alchohol because it displaces much more volume in the port than Gas. And that said, a head like that is WAY out of the league of ANY dual plane intake manifold. The Comp stuff is mass produced junk that is not even ground in house, either.

You have a 6000-8500RPM head when it is that big and on a 350. You will not make any velocity in the port. Velocity is KING when it comes to filling the cylinder. That combo will be out powered by a vortec head with an RV cam! You don’t believe me, try and see for yourself.

Unless you are going to run a 650+ lift solid roller cam with that head, your 350 with no forced induction is going to be a complete flop. And that cam in there will NEVER let the head work and it will NEVER let the engine RPM to a place where the heads could build velocity well enough to make the engine happy.

If your intent is 6500 RPM, put a stock vortec head on it. You’ll have the best overall power from idle to that point with that head than any conventional 23 degree head you can buy.

Your 220+ cc head is what I run on 355 Winged Alchohol Sprint cars.

Seriously, that head is a big mistake for you. And for 220+cc conventional heads, that head is not the greatest. The AFR’s a superior head. Their 210 will run circles around that head on your 355 and even it is still a big head for you given what your are doing. It does however, make a fantastic and still a very streetable head on a 6 inch rod 383 or 6 inch rod 406.
